About

As a teen, Doris loved to write in her journal about the various experiences she encountered daily. As she transitioned into high school, her English teacher noticed her creative ability to communicate her heart with words and invited her to join the journalism team.

One day a friend encouraged her to enter a state youth writing contest. She was reluctant but with her friend's gentle nudge, she prepared an essay titled, "I Am Running for My Life". Much to her surprise, Doris won the contest amidst the hundreds that were submitted. From that moment, Doris knew God wanted more from her and she was eager to explore.

After years of wearing a mask and experiencing the oppression that comes with legalism, Doris said, "No! There has to be more!" As a result of growing her relationship with Christ, Doris began a journey that led her to discover who she was in Him and the plans the Master had for her life. Little did the author know that writing would be the catalyst to break through the wall that she had formed and propel her forward in her purpose.

Doris accepted a personal challenge of no limits, stepped out by faith and developed a monthly newsletter called, The Overcomer. The readership spanned five states for five years. The newsletter consisted of real-life testimonies, subjects on faith, budgeting, health, parenting and more. The mission of the newsletter was to encourage and strengthen the readers to realize they can overcome any situation and be victorious in every area of life.

From 2009-2018, the author operated a nonprofit organization, Travailing Ministries International, Inc. The mission of the organization was to provide academic instruction, character building, life skills and spiritual development training for adults and youth, and to locally and internationally distribute humanitarian supplies to those in need. Doris and her team were a blessing to many people, equipping and empowering them to fulfill their purpose. Many of the individuals have identified and accepted their purpose and today walk in their gifts of grace as pastors, mission leaders, administrators, helpers, and many other callings.

In her new book, "The Power of Relentless Prayer and Resilient Faith," the author shares with you that in the silence between your prayer and God's answer is your time to persist and activate your faith.  Through biblical revelation from one of Jesus's most moving parables, rich personal stories, and practical instruction, you will learn how to be confident that your prayers are being answered, move forward when God says no; push back hindrances that block your way to the things you need, and more.
